MonoBar  v.1.1 (freeware)

AZ Audio has released MonoBar, a simple VSTi midi sequencer for Windows compatible VST hosts.

‘Mono’ because only 1 midi voice is sent and ‘Bar’ because it uses some canvas bar object in its GUI.

MonoBar features

• 4 bar-sequencers: Pitch, Note on (if > 0) and velocity (bar height), Note off (if > 0), and Controller ( x5).
• Main settings: Length and speed.
• Modes : No mode, Midi root (pitch sequence is added to the played note, an offset can be defined in the popup menu).
• CC slot: define the active CC sequence. CC to output is defined by sliding on the number near the ‘CC OUT’, CC sequence can be smoothed.
• Presets: 127 sequences (max 64 steps) per bank (fxp/fxb).
• Patterns can be sequenced by sending control change messages to MonoBar.

MonoBar is available as freeware for Windows PC.

Glitch Sequencer  (free)

Glitch Sequencer is a free cellular automaton based MIDI sequencer for the PC and Mac. It offers an interesting style of composition based on evolving patterns and is great for fast, fluid experimentation.

Hotsteppet v.1.003 (freeware)

Hotstepper is a 12-channel drum sequencer for Windows that's packed with a lot of nice features.

Features:

• Adjustable velocitiy and pitch for every event
• Up to 12 different sounds can be used simultaneous
• Adjustable velocity, delay, panorama position and pitch for every sound
• Adjustable pattern size and resolution (triple, quarter)
• Import wav files (10 second max, 44.1kHz, 16-bit, mono only) into the sound libary and select start and end sample points
• Export drum patterns as Windows PCM (*.wav) files
• Delay control so you can define the amount of the delay and adjust feedback
• Shuffle control for adjusting the type of shuffle and its intensity
• Organize patterns into a song (only one pattern may play at once)
• Wave Stretching allows you to define sounds that will be stretched automatically to the length of the beat
• Sounds can cut-off other sounds when started (ie. Closed HiHat stops Open HiHat)

Sequin (freeware)

Sequin is a monophonic step sequencer made with Synthedit. It can create 1 bar patterns with 8, 12, or 16 steps which are triggered from a MIDI note on event. When the sequencer is turned off, it can be played like a regular monophonic synthesizer.

Gater v.1.2 (freeware)

Gater is a 16th-note (semi-quaver) gate sequencer or 'trance' gate. It features an easy to use GUI with a handy randomize feature to invent new gate patterns. Two click-free gate shapes are available. The Gater uses very little CPU power or screen space and is compatible with VST 2.4.
